The Kinesiologist or Occupational Therapist will phone you to set up a convenient time and location to meet with you. The meeting will take place in your home or in a convenient community location. You will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, which allows us to speak with you, your other rehabilitation professionals and the sponsor (fee payer) of the program.
If your appointment is with a Kinesiologist, you will also be asked to fill out an Activity Readiness Questionnaire and some pain questionnaires. During the initial session, you will be asked the details of your injury, followed by range of motion and strength tests in order to determine your current functional ability. From here, goals are discussed and a program is developed to assist you in achieving your functional goals. All of this information will then be used to recommend and create a program that is appropriate for you.
Please wear comfortable clothing, and closed toed shoes, preferably runners. Please also bring a small towel and water.
If your appointment is with an Occupational Therapist, a detailed history will be taken, and any relevant information pertaining to your injury will be reviewed and discussed. They will discuss with you your injuries, where you are currently at in your recovery and your goals in regards to returning to as much of your pre-injury life as possible. Please wear loose comfortable clothing, preferably exercise attire. If the program is in a Recreation Centre, running shoes are also required. Please bring a small hand towel and some water as well. If your program is in the pool, please bring a bathing suit and a towel.
Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes in length, unless otherwise notified.
Every person and injury is unique. If you are back to work and have resumed most of your pre-injury activities, but just having some lingering pain, 6-8 sessions will likely be recommended. More complex injuries typically require more sessions.
We require 24 hours notice of a cancelation. If less than this is given, a late cancelation fee may apply.
No. We are an independent, private company. We are contracted by many Insurance Companies, ICBC being one of them, to assist their customers with their rehabilitation needs.
If your program is approved by your insurance company, there is no charge to you. 100% of program costs are covered under your insurance. Our rates are within the ICBC approved rates. If you are paying privately, we have different packages available – please see “Our Services”for details.

For you to initiate a program with one of our amazing Kinesiologists, yes, we will require a note from your treating doctor indicating that you are ready and recommended to participate in an active rehabilitation program.
We are here to assist you to reach your maximal potential by recommending and implementing services that will benefit you and your recovery from injury. Every individual and injury are unique and so is your rehab program. Once we meet with you and do an assessment, a goal centered plan will be created including timelines.
Reactive Injury Management has been assisting clients regain their functional ability and independence since 2001. We are Community Based, which means our Occupational Therapists and, or our Kinesiologists come to you. This makes us your most convenient choice when it comes to your rehabilitation. If you are covered by an insurance policy (example ICBC) there are no user fees. All of our professionals have extensive experience in injury management and are trained at the highest level.
